Washington, DC – Today, Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano (D-CA) and Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) released the following statement on redistricting developments in Arizona, where Equality PAC endorsed candidate Daniel Hernandez is running in the 6th District. The state has finalized their new maps which makes Arizona’s 6th District a competitive seat that President Biden carried by 0.1% in the 2020 Presidential Election.
“Finalized maps in Arizona show that the 6th Congressional District may be the most competitive district in the entire nation in the 2022 midterm elections,” said Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano and Congressman David Cicilline. “Any path to keeping our House majority and expanding the number of LGBTQ members of Congress runs through Arizona’s 6th District. With Daniel Hernandez as the Democratic nominee, we have the greatest ability to hold this critical seat and send a strong voice for LGBTQ rights to Congress. We look forward to continue supporting Daniel and his campaign to provide the residents of Southeast Arizona strong representation in Congress.”
