Washington, DC – Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano (D-CA) and Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) released the following statement announcing their endorsement of Congressman Mondaire Jones for New York’s 10thCongressional District. Jones recently announced his intention to run in this new district, which covers lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn.

The district he is seeking to represent includes the birthplace of the modern-day LGBTQ rights movement. It is only fitting that someone who is a member of the LGBTQ community represents the interests of the increasing numbers of LGBTQ residents that live throughout the new district. Mondaire is best equipped to serve this district and will remain an advocate for all underrepresented communities in the House.”
