Equality PAC Endorses Bob Poe’s Campaign for FL-10 Representative

Washington, DC – The Board of Equality PAC, a political action committee formed by leaders of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus, announced today their endorsement of businessman Bob Poe in his campaign to represent the Florida 10th in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“As a successful entrepreneur longtime champion of LGBT equality, Bob Poe will be a fantastic Member of Congress,” said Equality PAC Co-Chair Jared Polis (D-CO). “Not only would Bob be Florida’s first openly LGBT representative in Congress, he would be the first openly HIV positive Member in our nation’s history. Bob’s courageous announcement that he is living with HIV is a game changer in removing the unfair and unfounded stigma too many HIV-positive people face. Equality PAC is proud to endorse Bob and I look forward to serving with him in Congress.”

“The fight to secure and protect LGBT equality is so personal for me,” said Bob Poe. “Before we can really improve issues like economic inequality and healthcare inequality, we have to fix the most basic inequality of all, one that prevents LGBT Americans from living free from fear, from discrimination, and from hate. In Congress, I won’t stop pushing for full equality until our LGBT community enjoys the same rights as all Americans. Period.”

The Board of Directors includes Co-Chairs Representatives Jared Polis (D-CO) and Mark Takano (D-CA), who are also Co-Chairs of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus, and Board Members Representative David Cicilline (D-RI), also an LGBT Equality Caucus Co-Chair, Representative Dan Kildee (D-MI), a Vice-Chair of the Caucus, and Caucus members Representatives Suzan DelBene (D-WA), Elizabeth Esty (D-CT), Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), Joseph Kennedy, III (D-MA), Derek Kilmer (D-WA), Grace Meng (D-NY), and Gwen Moore (D-WI).
