Equality PAC Denounces Trump’s and Rubio’s Appearances at Anti-LGBT Event in Orlando
Washington, DC – Equality PAC, a political action committee formed by leaders of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus, decried Donald Trump and Senator Marco Rubio’s decision to appear at gathering of anti-LGBT activists in Orlando, Florida.
“It isn’t any surprise that Donald Trump and Marco Rubio have no respect for the LGBT community or its concerns, but it’s a particular slap in the face to appear at rally of anti-gay extremists in Orlando mere months after the Pulse shooting,” said Equality PAC Managing Director Roddy Flynn. “Mr. Trump and Senator Rubio have made their priorities clear: they would rather kowtow to far-right religious conservatives who denigrate the LGBT community than honor the 49 souls murdered in June. Let this finally put to rest any misguided and unfounded notion that Mr. Trump is at all an ally of the LGBT community.”
