Equality PAC Denounces Trump’s Divisive Campaign

Washington, D.C. – Equality PAC, the political action committee formed by the leaders of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus, expressed outrage at Donald Trump’s divisive beliefs and tactics.

“It is clear that Donald Trump’s campaign strategy is to tear this country apart,” said Equality PAC Managing Director Roddy Flynn. “Trump claims to be a friend of LGBT Americans, all the while opposing marriage equality and supporting hateful anti-transgender ‘bathroom” bills,’ including North Carolina’s HB-2. Trump even created a ‘religious advisory board‘ in his campaign that is a Who’s Who of the bigoted, radical anti-LGBT movement.”

“Americans who support the dignity and security of LGBT people only have one choice in November: Hillary Clinton. Hillary championed LGBT rights as Secretary of State and has made LGBT equality a cornerstone of her campaign. She is the only candidate we can trust to protect our hard fought gains and make full legal and societal equality a reality. If she wins, we win.”

Please contact Roddy Flynn at 302-897-7199 or [email protected] with press inquiries.

The purpose of Equality PAC is to work to bring nearer the full legal and societal equality of LGBT persons and creating a legislative environment that is conducive to that goal. The Board of Directors includes Co-Chairs Representatives Jared Polis (D-CO) and Mark Takano (D-CA), who are also Co-Chairs of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus, and Board Members Representative David Cicilline (D-RI), also an LGBT Equality Caucus Co-Chair, Representative Dan Kildee (D-MI), a Vice-Chair of the Caucus, and Caucus members Representatives Suzan DelBene (D-WA), Elizabeth Esty (D-CT), Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), Joseph Kennedy, III (D-MA), Derek Kilmer (D-WA), Grace Meng (D-NY), and Gwen Moore (D-WI).
