Washington, DC – Today, Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano (D-CA) and Congressman David Cicilline announced that Equality PAC’s incumbents and endorsed candidates raised over $5,226,800.00 according to third quarter filing reports with the Federal Elections Commission.
“There is no doubt that Republicans are working around the clock to defeat Democratic House candidates across the board,” said Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano and Congressman David Cicilline. “In order to protect our incumbents and place ourselves in a strong position to advocate for full LGBTQ equality, we must continue to outpace Republicans and those who seek to upend our pro-equality agenda. That is exactly what these third quarter fundraising numbers exemplify. We have proven that with a diverse set of candidates that represent many different facts of the LGBTQ community, we pose a real threat to Republican incumbents we are looking to unseat while ensuring we can raise enough money to strengthen the position of our own incumbents in their respective races.”
This total fundraising number exceeds the second quarter total which was over $5.1 million. This total is comprised of 14 candidates, five endorsed candidates and nine incumbents.
Equality PAC is the political arm of the Congressional LGBTQ Equality Caucus and is dedicated to the full legal and societal equality for LGBTQ Americans. All funds raised into Equality PAC are spent supporting and electing openly LGBTQ individuals and strong LGBTQ allies to the United States Congress who are committed to passing the Equality Act and to ensuring full civil rights and protections for all LGBTQ Americans.
