Equality PAC Applauds President Biden’s Executive Order Strengthening LGBTQ Protections

Washington, DC – Today, Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano (D-CA) and Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) applauded President Biden’s executive order which strengthens protections for LGBTQ Americans. President Biden’s order requires federal agencies to include sexual orientation and gender identity in laws that prohibit discrimination. Under this requirement, LGBTQ Americans will not only be protected in the workplace, but will also receive protection from discrimination in other areas such as education, healthcare and housing.

“This critical executive order issued on day one of the Biden Administration ensures that all LGBTQ Americans will be treated equally and represents a complete reversal from the discriminatory policies from the previous administration,” said Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano and Congressman David Cicilline. “There is no doubt that the Biden Administration is the most pro LGBTQ equality administration in history, and we look forward to working with President Biden to bolster LGBTQ protections in Congress and across the United States.”
