JoAnna Mendoza, or Jo as friends and family call her, was born and raised in Pinal County, Arizona in a farmworker family that often struggled to make ends meet. She answered the call to serve at 17, spending 20 years in the Navy and Marine Corps – including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, before returning home to raise her son as a single mother. Now, she’s running for Congress to fight for real results that help Arizona families thrive, from lowering the cost of food and gas to expanding opportunity in rural communities.
