Washington, DC – Today, Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano (D-CA) and Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) released the following statement celebrating Congresswoman-Elect Becca Balint’s win in Vermont’s At-Large Congressional District election. Balint will succeed Congressman Peter Welch, who was elected to serve Vermont in the United States Senate. Upon her swearing in, Balint will be the first woman to represent Vermont at the federal level and be the first openly LGBTQ Member of Congress from the Green Mountain State.
