Washington, DC – Today, Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano (D-CA) and Congressman David Cicilline announced that Equality PAC’s incumbents and endorsed candidates raised over $5.1 million according to second quarter filing reports with the Federal Elections Commission.
“In order to expand the membership of our caucus and defend our incumbents, Equality PAC endorsed candidates must report strong fundraising numbers each and every quarter,” said Equality PAC Co-Chairs Chairman Mark Takano and Congressman David Cicilline. “This impressive 2nd quarter fundraising haul of over $5.1 million spread over 13 candidates tells us that voters across the United States are receptive to our message of equality for all Americans. Our candidates represent a diverse coalition of individuals from the LGBTQ community, each bringing their own set of unique experiences, stories, and backgrounds to the ballot in this upcoming cycle. Every one of our candidates has been working incredibly hard to fortify their coffers as we approach the 2022 midterm elections. With fundraising numbers like these, we are confident that we can not only protect our incumbents but also expand the Equality Caucus’ membership.”
Equality PAC is the political arm of the Congressional LGBTQ Equality Caucus and is dedicated to the full legal and societal equality for LGBTQ Americans. All funds raised into Equality PAC are spent supporting and electing openly LGBTQ individuals and strong LGBTQ allies to the United States Congress who are committed to passing the Equality Act and to ensuring full civil rights and protections for all LGBTQ Americans.
